Academic Support Programs

College Bound provides mentoring and tutoring programs, SAT preparation courses, and college campus tours to prepare students for college entry and degree attainment.

The DC Public Schools' website lists organizations citywide and by ward that provide academic assistance to students.

Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families, high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelors' degree, and low-income, first-generation military veterans who are preparing to enter postsecondary education. Projects provide instruction in math, laboratory science, composition, literature, foreign language, and more. Several local organizations offer Upward Bound programs, including Howard University, Trinity College, and the Latin American Youth Center.
