Academic Support Programs
 
GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is designed to increase the number of low-income students prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. The DC GEAR UP program will serve approximately 1,156 sixth and seventh graders.
 
Talent Search offers academic, career, and financial counseling to disadvantaged students with potential. The program also helps high school dropouts.  The DC organizations with Talent Search programs are, the University of the District of Columbia and the Consortium of Universities of Washington, DC.
 
The TRIO Directory* provides information on institutions and agencies that sponsor Talent Search and Upward Bound programs.
 
This website provides one-on-one online tutoring for a monthly fee.
