Find Colleges and Universities

Learn about the importance of selecting licensed and accredited colleges and universities and view a list of licensed institutions in Washington, DC.

Community colleges offer associate degrees, an inexpensive way to attend college for your first two years. You can use the Community College Finder to look for community colleges in Virginia, Maryland, and other states.  DC does not have any community colleges.

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) provides links to licensed private and public colleges and universities from the greater Washington, Maryland, and Virginia areas.

The HBCU network lists and provides links to historically black colleges and universities.  To learn more about historically black colleges and universities, visit the Hobsons College View website and the African Americans website.
