I am pleased to formally announce the release of the new DC Government Education Resource Center, an education-based web portal for the residents of the District.  The ERC is designed to serve as a web gateway to all available information and services parents and guardians may want or need to make informed decisions about their children’s education.

This website includes information on DC schools, college preparation and financial assistance, support for parents, and school nutrition.  You will be able to use the ERC to access a variety of information sources, not only from relevant District government agencies, such as the State Education Office (SEO), but also from many other educational organizations, such as the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), the two school chartering authorities, and the National Association of Independent Schools. 

As the leader of the District of Columbia, I believe that ultimately I am accountable for ensuring that the city is providing excellent educational opportunities to all residents of the city.  I also believe that it is my responsibility to raise public awareness of the importance of providing high quality early childhood, K-12, and adult education.
